Employees
Employees are assigned to properties to drive production. Core Business supports both NPC employees (hired from a predefined deck) and player employees (real players working for your business).
How Employees Work
- Every employee has a role (Manager, Worker, Security) with base productivity points
- NPC employees have an additional productivity bonus on top of role base points
- Total productivity of all assigned employees determines how fast a property produces
- A manager is always required — properties won't produce without one
- If the business can't pay salaries, all employee productivity drops to zero

Roles
Manager — 10 base pts
Required for any property to operate. No manager means no production. One per property is enough.
Worker — 5 base pts
Main production contributors. Stack workers to maximize output. The backbone of your operation.
Security — 2 base pts
Minimal production contribution. Protects against gang raids when Core Gangs is integrated.
INFO
Base points are the starting contribution for any employee in that role. NPC employees have individual productivity_bonus values on top of this base, making each NPC unique in value.
Total Productivity
Employee Total Points = Role Base Points + Individual Bonus (NPCs only)
Property Productivity = Sum of all assigned employees' total pointsHigher total productivity means faster production cycles. The actual output scales with productivity relative to the property recipe's base cycle time.
NPC Employee Deck
Core Business ships with 38 unique NPC employees across all three roles. Each has a name, ped model, salary, and productivity bonus. The key trade-off: better employees cost more in salary.

Unicorn Workers
Mika Volkov and Rosie Delgado are unicorn hires — suspiciously cheap for their productivity. Smart business owners will prioritize hiring them before competitors.

Player Employees
Real players can be hired as employees:
- Players start with base role points only (no individual bonus)
- Salaries are set by the business owner when hiring
- Player employees receive their salary as cash during the operations tick
- Players can be assigned to any role (manager, worker, security)
NPC Behaviors
Assigned NPCs spawn at properties with role-specific animations:
| Role | Walk Speed | Animations |
|---|---|---|
| Manager | 1.0 | Clipboard, Mobile Phone, Smoking |
| Worker | 1.2 | Welding, Hammering, Drilling, Clipboard, Cleaning |
| Security | 0.8 | Guard Stand, Army Stand, Cop Idle, Coffee |
NPCs inside property interiors are placed at predefined locations within the interior.
Hiring Strategy
When building your employee roster, consider:
- Always hire a manager first — no manager means no production
- Budget managers work fine — the productivity difference isn't worth 3x the salary for most properties
- Stack workers for production — workers contribute the most to output
- Security is optional — they add minimal productivity, mainly useful for RP and protection with Core Gangs integration
- Watch the salary-to-productivity ratio — a $2,500 Mika Volkov at 30 pts beats a $6,000 Hank Brewer at 30 pts
